2012 - Tuesday, May 15, 2012

We welcome you all to our new venue, over the river at Edgell Park on the Boorowa Road. Field layout is online on our DRAWS/RESULTS page. If not sure about something, just ask someone!  Codes of Conduct are an important part of everyone’s enjoyment.  This website has most other essential information weekly:  cowrasoccer.org.au.

Smile, encourage the young ones and enjoy yourselves – all season.  Parking is probably the only shortcoming, so get there early, ready for a big walk, and closely supervise the kids near the Boorowa Road. The loop at the kiosk is for drop-off only – no parking there. It’s been a major effort of your Committee and Cowra Shire Council to get this long-needed adequate area and conditions, with work still going on.

TEAMS

Teams have been formed by a number of the Committee aware of the age group players’ abilities and considering requests for friends, hopefully to create an even competition.  In some age groups there is room for late registrations, at the discretion of Registrar Sam Hayes.  Anyone who can be fitted in is able to play the following week.

Registrations that have been done through myfootballclub.com.au  but not paid for need to contact the Registrar (Sam) to do so or you child will not be put in a team. Please contact the registrar on registrar@cowrasoccer.org.au or phone 0438423055, as after the 6th of April an extra $10 charge applies.  More information is elsewhere in the Guardian or here.  Please click on our TEAMS page for full details.

Coerver Coaching

Early notice that Coerver will be back in the July school holidays.  See our COACHES/REFEREES page for details and application form.

Meetings

Club Meetings are usually on the FIRST Monday of every month unless otherwise advised.  C&DSC next monthly meeting is on Monday 4th June from 7pm till 8:30pm at Cowra Bowling Club.  This is the second of the four meetings that gains your child's team a competition point, so be there.

The World Game for our kids doesn't happen without dedication from enough of you to plan for 2012!  Thankyou all for your involvement and positive supportive approach.

Congratulations to all involved in 2011 Grand Finals and Presentations.  See below for full details of Awards.  Congratulations to all of you, including your team-mates, Coaches and opponents, without whom you could not have done it!

About Cowra & District Soccer Club Minimize

Cowra & District Soccer Club Inc has around 500 girls and boys playing in mixed teams from age-groups 5 to 16 in small-sided games and local competitions every Saturday morning from 8am until 2pm from late April until September.  Our home ground is Twigg Oval, River Park, on the eastern bank of the Lachlan River, just beyond the Aquatic Centre in Taragala St.  Cowra Shire Council maintains this area for cricket, athletics as well as football.

These competitions kick off usually on the first Saturday after school resumes from the autumn break, and conclude mid-September.  Families living in all the surrounding villages have children involved, with the biggest contingent travelling 30km or further every Saturday from the town of Canowindra.  Different teams are seen training every afternoon of the week.

As well, catering for older players are two All-Age sides and one Women's side competing in the Bathurst District Soccer Football Association competitions.

On the third Sunday of August each year, 500 extra Junior players from these and other towns and suburbs of Canberra descend on this beautiful venue for our annual Soccer Carnival, with competitions for 8 to 16 year-olds.  This day stretches the resources of the Club and Referees (including visitors) to provide quality football for kids from a huge area.  Nominations usually fill during June.  On the following Sunday 28th August 2011, we run a Girls Carnival.

A strong, committed group of parents runs the Club voluntarily, meeting on the first Monday of each month (March to October) from 7:00 till 9:00pm at the Cowra Bowling and Recreation Club.

A small and determined band of Referees ensures safety and fairness for all, as well as giving players the opportunity to learn and apply the FIFA Laws of the Game as assistants or out there in the middle.  Referees meet on the second Monday of each month (from May 9) - 5pm till 6:30pm at Cowra Bowling Club.

Cowra & District Soccer Club kicks on through summer with Twilight Football for mixed teams of High School age and much older at Sid Kallas Oval, West Cowra.  This summer, almost 400 registrations filled 40 teams, our biggest ever!
